Ruby Kleiber

Ruby Kleiber, lovingly known as “Grannie Kleiber”, 88 of Brenham and formerly of LaGrange, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center.

She was born October 6, 1921 to Gus and Annie (Hrbacek) Rauch in Fayette County, TX. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She was educated in the Fayette County Schools. On September 18, 1949, she married Edward “Doc” Kleiber in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaGrange. Mrs. Kleiber was employed as a sales clerk for Bill’s Dollar Store for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. She was on the Alter Society at Sacred Heath Catholic Church and a mentor for several years at Brenham Elementary.

Mrs. Kleiber was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Alois Rauch, sisters Grace Schneider and Clara Mather, son-in-law Larry Zwahr.

Her loving family includes: daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Zwahr of Brenham, Judy and Steve Avis, Sandy and Randy Els all of Houston; grandchildren, Amy and Aaron Schramm, Nathan and Alison Zwahr, Brian and Katie Zwahr; Scott and Erin Avis, Stacey and Matt Kidwiler, Shara Avis, Jessica Els, Kevin Els; great-grandchildren, Brad and Lana Schramm, Alexa and Alyssa Zwahr; sisters, Bernice Norton, Lorine Cook, Helen Crutcher; sisters-in-law Angie Kleiber, Elsie Rauch; brother-in-law, Roland Schneider; special cousins, Ron and Susan Wall; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation with the Kleiber family will be Monday, November 16th from 6-8 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Visitation will also be Tuesday, November 17th from 10-11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaGrange, with funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the City of LaGrange Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Nathan Zwahr, Brian Zwahr, Scott Avis, Kevin Els and also Ron Wall, David Kleiber, Wayne Mather and Ronnie Schneider.
