It was a great honor to know Pastor Derrick, a true man of God. Sympathy to the family. May he rest in peace and enjoy his heavenly reward. He was a true and faithful servant who touched many lives with grace and kindness

We will miss Pastor Bill at our Grace Church in Giddings. For several years he filled in as a guest pastor and in the last few years was an added member in our congregation. We always enjoyed hearing Bill’s singing and enjoyed his enthusiasm. It was always nice to have he and Jason in services on Sunday.
Prayers of peace to the family as he moves on to his eternal home.

Bill and I were in the Texas Lutheran college a capella choir, touring the Midwest and parts of Texas. He was handsome, a sought after dancing partner, always friendly and positive. He paid attention to national politics and argued in a friendly manner key points.
I regret he was never my pastor and that we did not stay in close touch over the years.
One of God's best.

Julyne and Jason and families,
So very sorry to hear of Pastor Derrick's passing. What a wonderful and well-known man, pastor and community individual. A life full and well-lived and inspiring to others. And, even-so after his life was changed with blindness which didn't stop him. Sharing our thoughts, prayers and sympathy with you and all those that loved your Dad. May many good memories of your times together help comfort you in the days ahead.
Love and blessings, Christy

Pastor Derrick was my pastor for confirmation at Salem Lutheran Church. He was my favorite. Great Guy who I respected and I enjoyed listening to his sermons. At confirmation he would get your attention when it was time to be serious. But he also had a great fun personality that I will always remember. His impact was key for me when I was young. I will never forget the wisdom he taught me about GOD. I truly appreciate Pastor Derrick for this lifetime and Eternity. My prayers for all of his family. And Thank You Pastor so much! I’ll see U again someday!

We are sorry to hear of Billie Franks passing. He touched many lives. We remember fondly when he came to Harlingen in 1984 to Baptise our first grandson, Christopher. And of course, Frank remembers when they were children, Pastor Bill performing cousin wedding ceremonies on the steps of Uncle Willie and Aunt Bettys' house in Burton. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Love to all.
