Dear Family:
I had Mr. Wied for a Botany Class when I attended Blinn College in 1980. I must say that he was the best teacher I had while in College both at Blinn and at Texas A&M University. I remember his patience, laugh, kindness, knowledge of subject matter and overall "good, Christian character".
After I finished college I worked at an Agricultural dealership in Caldwell, TX and remember Mr. Wied coming in the store a couple of times for some repair parts for his shredder/mower. I was so excited to see him again and talk with him to see how he was doing and listening to him talk about his ranch and family.
I travel to Brenham often and I had always hoped to see him again to talk with him.
I am so happy that our paths crossed. He was one of my mentors and has definitly made me a better person.
Every now and then God puts "extra special" people in our lives to ensure us that there are good people and good things happening around us despite all the bad things we read and hear about.

Although I did not personally know Mr. Wied, I knew of him and had the opportunity to meet him several times. He is legendary at Blinn College, and I've met so many people who hold him in such high regard. Several weeks ago, I saw him at church holding his grandson's hand in the communion line. I remember thinking how precious the two of them looked and how lucky that young man was to have such a tremendous influence in his life. May God bless your family in this difficult time.

Our sympathies are extended to the family. I have so many fond memories of Mr. Wied. He helped me so much with the high schools he enjoyed going to so that he could talk to students about attending Blinn. I always enjoyed taking football tickets with him at the Blinn games. If someone came to buy a ticekt during the National Anthem, he would stand at attention and not take their money until after the anthem was over. He taught me a lot during those moments. When my dad was in a Houston hospital after undergoing cancer surgery, Mr. Wied called him and brightened his day. He was always doing such thoughtful things. My favorite memory, though, is when he and Mrs. Wied led the Grand March at our wedding in July of 1995.

We will never forget his kindness and thoughtfulness. We will be praying for God to grant you His peace during these difficult days ahead.

It was such a shock to hear of Mr. Wied's passing away. He had just called us a few days earlier to check on the status of our mom. Our family extends their deepest condolences to Mrs. Wied, her children and grandchildren. We met Mr. & Mrs. Wied at a polka dance and we became friends with them sharing many good times and talks. Losing a loved one is difficult but with faith and time it will ease. We will never forget Mr. Wied. May God Bless.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. It was always a joy to work with Mr. Wied at Blinn College as he was always smiling and eager to help or share a story. Even though Janice and Jesse and I had all gone our separate ways after attending Blinn, he always shared with me where you were and the wonderful things that you were doing in your lives. He truly loved you all dearly and will be missed.
God's blessings to you all,

To the family you have my sympathy and condonlences, I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Wied, was my Bontany instructor at Blinn, I was nervous about taking a science class, it was my first semester, and my Dad said I know Mr. Wied you will be just fine. And it did work out just fine. Everyday I went to class, Mr. Wied always had a smile on his face, everyday was a great day for him and all of his students no matter what. He was a great person, I am glad I have had the pleasure to know him and have been taught by him.

May God be with you during this very difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to you at the loss of Mr. Wied. He was my Biology Instructor when I was a student at Blinn. I also remember him from the various polka dances in the area.
He was a good man and a hard worker.
My memories of him are fond ones.
God bless you and keep you in his care.
