Jack Kuykendall

Jack Kuykendall age 85 of Brenham passed away Monday, August 1, 2005.

Jack was born to James William and Lola Mae (Whorton) Kuykendall on February 2, 1920 in Montague County, TX. He grew up and attended school in Garza County. On February 1, 1947 he married Mary Frances Evrage in Nocona, TX. Jack farmed in Post, operated an egg farm in Slaton and had been a Brenham resident for the last 11 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been a V.F.W. member for over 50 years.

Jack’s parents preceded him in death.

His family include wife Frances Kuykendall of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law Leland and Katie Kuykendall of Channelview, Dwight Kuykendall of Brenham and Mark and Diane Kuykendall of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl and Ken Hargrave and Carole and Monroe Petzolt all of Brenham; 8 grandchildren Kimberly and Chris Jozwiak, James Holton IV, Lance and Leah Hargrave, John and Melanie Holton, Justin and Emily Hargrave, Derek and Dara Kuykendall, Casey Kuykendall and Dusty Kuykendall; 12 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Lewis and Faye Kuykendall of Comanche; sisters Belle Carroll of Comanche and Virgie Mae Emert of Slaton.

Visitation with the Kuykendall family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Thursday, August 4 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Troy Sikes will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Kuykendall, Derek Kuykendall, John Holton, Sam Hale, Morris McCulloch, Dennie Marek, James Holton and Lance Hargrave. Honorary pallbearers will be W. W. Hollingsworth, Jerry Swafford, Joe Fietsam, Bill Thaler, Harry Wehring, Al Weiser, Daniel Cerny and Larry Sodek.

Memorials may be given to your favorite charity.
