Gilbert Motl

Uncle "G" as my brothers and sisters called him was a really good man. I played my first game of golf with him after I had retired. We played many times after that, and I really got to know him as a person not just my uncle.

From the 1960s on, I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Gilbert and his family – gatherings in “Arcadia” (Santa Fe), Grandma Motl’s house, weddings, and reunions. Even as a small child, I knew Uncle Gilbert was a special and rare person who took the time to acknowledge everyone – young and old! – in his presence with a warm greeting, and quite likely, a joke or humorous story. He was truly: one-of-a-kind! Rest in Peace, “Uncle G.”
