Obituary

Marianne Hensen Johnson, 48 of Brenham, passed away at her home Friday, December 1, 2006.

She was born February 7, 1958 in Houston to Ernest N. and Janice (Holleman) Hensen. Marianne was baptized in March 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brenham and confirmed in 1970 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Houston. She graduated from Lamar High School, Houston and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Texas and a Master in Education Degree from University of Houston. On July 31, 1982 she married B. Howard Johnson in St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Houston. Marianne was a teacher at Brenham High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a life member of the Texas Exes. She was involved in family and church activities as well as a life long sports participant, coach and fan.

Survivors include: husband, B. Howard Johnson; children, Benjamin Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Kimberly Johnson all of Brenham; sister, Lisa Hensen Wood of San Antonio; brothers, Jack Hensen and wife Kathy of Clemson, South Carolina, Charlie Hensen and wife Mindy of Lago Vista, Texas; parents-in-law, Dorci and John Sprinkle of San Antonio and Ben Johnson of Moulton, Tx.; sister-in-law, Robin Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Michael Sprinkle of Dallas, Charles Sprinkle of Dallas,; nephews and nieces, Charlie Wood and Deanna Wood Reeder of San Antonio, Brian Hensen and Jennifer Hensen Summer of Clemson, South Carolina, Heather Hensen of Austin, Lauren Johnson and Leah Johnson of Pensacola, Fla., Savannah Sprinkle and Mark Sprinkle of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Janice Holleman Hensen, maternal grandparents M.B. and Mary Rhodes Holleman, step-grandmother Lucy Wine Holleman, paternal grandparents Louis and Valeria Hensen, brother-in-law Lt. Commander Mark H. Johnson.

Visitation will be Monday, December 4, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Ponder officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church School Scholarship Fund.
