Obituary
William Ray Miller, 77, passed away on March 25, 2025, in Brenham, Texas. He was born on August 7, 1947, in Princeton, Indiana, to William and Laura Miller. William graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in Illinois.
Following high school, William enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he dedicated 20 years of service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. Much of his military career was spent overseas in the Airborne Infantry. He also served as an OPT 4 Instructor, specializing in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare.
On June 14, 1975, William married the love of his life, Peggy Schroeder, in Zionsville. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Christian and Warren. After retiring from the Army, he settled in Brenham, Texas, where he worked for the Washington County Road and Bridge Department, Brenham State School, and Sutherlands.
An avid outdoorsman, William enjoyed hunting and camping, particularly at Lake Belton. He was also a passionate collector of firearms.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy; sons Christian Miller and Warren Miller with his wife, Elli; brother Robert Miller; brother-in-law Johnnie Schroeder and his wife, Marilyn; and nephews Troy and Shawn Schroeder.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura Miller.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
