Walter F. Terry

Walter F.Terry, age 93, of Gazebo Terrace, Brenham, TX died May 19, 2007.

Mr. Terry was born on July 31, 1913 in Mesquite, TX. He was a long time employee of Sears Roebuck and Co. He was transferred to Houston in 1947 to be manager of the Sears Warehouse. He remained in this position until he took an early retirement and established Walter Terry Dist. He was a lifetime member and Sunday school teacher at St. Matthews United Methodist Church and more recently a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Willie Terry; sisters Cleo Hudler and Evelyn Peal; first wife Tommie Jordon Terry; second wife Mary Pool Terry; and son-in-law Robert Gaskamp.

He is survived by daughters, Barbara Gaskamp Sanders and husband Ray of Brenham, TX, Dannette Hunt and husband W.A. of Jacksonville, TX; step-daughter, Lynn Ryberg and husband David of Phoenix, AZ; step-son, Kent Pool and wife Vivian of Houston, TX; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several great and step great grandchildren.

Viewing will be noon to 8 p.m. Monday, at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22 in Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay St., Houston, TX 77024 with Rev. James Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
