Vennie Herzog

Vennie Lee Brisbin Herzog, 2/25/1926 to 9/2/2012, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at Scott & White Hospital in Brenham. For the past three years, she had been residing at Argent Court Assisted Living in Brenham.

Vennie was a long time well respected figure at the Washington County Court House where she faithfully served many, many years in the tax office and then as Washington County Tax Assessor.

She is survived by: her son, James Montgomery and his partner Doyle Gercken of Dallas, TX; sister, Pauline Brisbin Tucker of Jourdanton, TX; nephew, Richard Perry and his wife Barbara of Houston; two grandchildren, David Montgomery and Kristen Montgomery, both of Washington State; brothers and sisters-in law, Clarence and Elizabeth (Sugar) Herzog of Brenham, Glen and Britta Herzog of Austin, Harvey and Arin Herzog of Brenham; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Elfred Herzog and her daughter Beverly Sue Herzog Tegeler.

A heart filled thanks to Robin Thistle and her awesome staff at Argent Court for their loving care of "Miss Vennie". Also, thanks to Elverna Borchardt for her never ending love and willingness to help over the past three years. Vennie will be missed.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5th from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral service will be Thursday, September 6th at 10 a.m. both held at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
