Obituary
Ruth B. Tschatschula, 90 of Brenham, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Briarwood Manor in Bellville.
Ruth was born into a Christian home and was a lifelong Lutheran. She was born February 18, 1923 to Alma (Moerbe) and Martin Krakosky and was baptized by Pastor Siebiltz on March 4th in Port Authur, Texas. During the depression in 1932, she moved to Warda, Texas where her family farmed, while she attended Lutheran and public schools. At the young age of 18, her mother died and she took the role of mother for her three younger siblings. She married Clarence Tschatschula at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on April 20, 1947. When they moved to Houston, she became very active in her church as Vice-president of PTL, Sunday school secretary and treasurer and also Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the LWML and also secretary. Both she and her husband sang in the choir. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Company in Houston. After moving to Spring, she worked at Northwest Houston Medical Center in the medical records department for nine years until her retirement. She was very involved with a cancer support group in the Spring area. Ruth moved to Brenham to be near family and helped being the head cook, grandson chauffeur and caregiver and the main dog sitter. She helped hold her family together while they endured trials of their own. She truly holds a special place in the hearts of her family.
A faithful wife, mother and grandmother, she was the epitome of a true Christian woman of God, doing His handiwork on a daily basis. Her husband, Clarence, went to be with his Savior in November of 1981 after almost 35 years of marriage. She joyfully now goes to join him and her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and sister. She leaves to mourn: her loving daughter Beverly and her wonderful son-in-law Kenneth Peters of Brenham; grandson, Kenny Peters who was so special and the true love of her life and his wife Kim of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Shirley Krakosky of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Harry Hempel of San Antonio; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Leona Krakosky of Houston; also numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of friends that loved her much since she was the kind of person who never met a stranger and was always a genuine friend.
Ruth always had a smile on her face, even as she accepted the many tribulations of her life. After 90 years and 7 days of waiting patiently and prayerfully, her biggest smile ever can be seen now in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
“For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21.
