We will miss our buddy Ruth. We danced, laughed and and hugged. The last time I saw her was in November 2024. A few days before Veterans Day. I was replacing flags at the flagpole. A car stopped and out came Ruth. Do you need help with those flags? She held them off the ground while I worked the rope. I noticed her beautiful red manicure. We visited, I thanked her for assisting me and off she went to visit someone else. After she drove off I thought to myself that God placed me at the flagpole just in time for a visit with my friend not knowing it would be our last. Rest dear Ruth. You were indeed one of a kind and kindness was always in your heart.

To Ruth's family,

As her obituary reads, she was one of a kind. I married into the Herzog family back in 1981. Throughout the years I had the pleasure of getting to know Ruth. She was always very loving to me and to others. Her family was the center of her being and it showed.

I also know Ruth loved the Lord. We had many endearing conversations about our God. I'm so glad that he prepares a place for us to rest and be with him in eternity. My faith assures me Ruth is with Jesus now and all of her beloved family that had gone before her.

A special memory of her that I have is receiving her Christmas cards every year. Without a doubt her card would be the first one I received. I would open it with joy knowing it was sent with love.

Ruth has left an indelible mark of love on my heart. I will treasure the memories we made at the Family Reunions and the talks we had on the phone reminiscing about family and life.

No words can take away the sting of grief. I am grateful that God saw fit to allow me to know Ruth.

Family, please know you are in my prayers during this difficult time of loss. May your loving memories of her bring you peace.

All my love,
Joyce
