Roy H. Fletcher, Sr.

Roy H. Fletcher, Sr. 81, of Brenham/Independence passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village.
Roy was born August 8, 1928 in Ballinger, Texas to parents Baylis and Vera Mae Hardy Fletcher. Upon graduating from Ballinger High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he went on to obtain his college degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. On August 27, 1952, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Maughan, in San Antonio. Roy retired from Ford Motor Company in 1992 after 30 years of service as their District Service Engineer. He enjoyed being with his family and anything that had to do with tools, equipment and cars. Roy will be remembered for his love of family, generosity of spirit and great sense of humor. He was a member of Brenham Presbyterian Church.

His parents and son Roy Howard Fletcher, Jr. preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rebecca Fletcher of Brenham/Independence; sons and daughters-in-law Keith and Lane Fletcher, Gary and Deidra Fletcher, Robert and Brandi Fletcher; grandchildren Travis Fletcher and wife Jill, James Fletcher, Christopher Fletcher, Elizabeth Fletcher, Justin Fletcher; brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Linda Fletcher.

Visitation will be from 6-8 Friday, September 4, 2009 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5th in Brenham Memorial Chapel with The Reverend Dr. James McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
