Roy B. Schroeder

Roy B. Schroeder, 79, of Brenham passed away December 7, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Brenham.

Roy B. was born in Washington County on August 28, 1945 to Roy H. and Dula (Lehmann) Schroeder and was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. He graduated from Brenham High School and attended Blinn College.

On June 6, 1976, he was united in marriage to Lorena Ruth Schulz at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill. To that union, two children were born, Kelly Lynette and Ryan Brandon.
Roy was employed at the Texas Highway Department for 35 years, where he operated various types of heavy machinery that built and maintained the roads in Washington County. Years later, he was promoted to assistant supervisor until his retirement. To stay busy after retirement, Roy worked with the Brenham Independent School District and Blinn College maintenance departments. In the following years, Roy enjoyed looking after the cattle and taking care of the homestead that he and Lorena built together.

Roy is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Lorena Schroeder; daughter Kelly Flisowski and son-in-law Kevin Flisowski; son Ryan B. Schroeder and daughter-in-law Jennifer Schroeder all of Brenham; grandchildren, Karleigh Flisowski and special friend Dakota McCall of Temple, Kaden Flisowski, Rhett and Rilynn Schroeder of Brenham. He is also survived by: a brother, Glenn Schroeder; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Wiemken, Carol Hold, Lenora Bliznak and her husband, Vincent; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10th, from 5-7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be Wednesday, December 11th at 10:30am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Flisowski, Kaden Flisowski, Rhett Schroeder, Corey Jackson, Jeff Schulz, Keith Forester and Trey Burleson.
