Rita Christiansen - Guestbook

I was glad to meat Rita in her last 6 months or so of her life. I would see her in Wal-Mart and tell her I think I have something that my doctor told me about and it might help you. The first time she declined and a few months later I saw her again. Her health was worse and this time she wanted to try what I had to offer. Original Limu & God gave her a better quality of life in the weeks to come she said. I just was hoping it would do more but God was in control of her destiny. May God Bless & Keep her Love ones.

Rita was a hoot, and I rember when I was a child how she would have this smile about her inside and out,and it stayed with her even when I seen her through the years. My deepest sympathy for all the family.

What a great loss to the world with the passing of Rita. She was a friendly, generous, outspoken, wonderful lady. She took great pride in her dedication to volunteerism...namely Hospice (where I met her) and the citizens patrol. I think she missed her calling in life as she would have made a wonderful cop!
Glad that she is reunited with Marvin and watching over us all.

To Rita's Family,
I was so stunned to read of Rita's passing. I lived next door to Rita and Marvin nearly 30 years ago. She and Marvin were like second parents to me and my brother Boddy.

Today I feel like my mother has gone. I am so grateful for all those memories and for Rita and Marvin.

No words are adequate for this Lady. She always went above and beyond in everything she did. My husband, Johnnie, and I always enjoyed her and Marvin's company. We attended several State TCPAAA conventions with them and had the privilege of being escorted by them around Austin at one of the conventions when we were staying with them at Marvin's aunt's home there. We first met Rita at a Brenham CPA class. Our son, JJ, was attending that class with her in the late 1990's. We really had special times with her in her favorite car (The Convertible). I could go on and on, but will just say: I love this lady and her uniqueness. Frances

My deepest sympathy goes out to Rita's family. I didn't know Rita long at all. I think I met her twice thur Red Hat. She was sick so much afterward, I wish I could have gotten to know her better. She always wore her glitter and her big red hats. She was always sweet and friendly toward me. God Bless, Sandra Battle

I am a late comer to the Red Hat Society and unfortunately for me I did not get to meet Rita. From what others have said about her though I know that I would have loved her as a sister. My deepest sympathies go out to her family and those who knew her. I know she's now in a far better place and I look forward to meeting her there!

Everyone knew Rita to be the outspoken one and let them know exactly what she was thinking. She loved to give surprises and enjoyed seeing just how she was able to make a difference in their life. I've learned a many things from Rita and will never forget all the times we enjoyed each other's company. She was a very strong woman and very supportive. I always knew who to call when advice was needed. I pray that she is with Marvin and all her loved ones. I will never forget Rita; the loving mother figure she was to me.

I met Rita through the Red Hats, we always knew outings would be fun when Rita was around. She made everyone feel welcome and special. I can picture her in heaven now with her red hat and sparkly jewelry saying, "You all come on in, it's fun!"

I met Rita many years ago when she voluntered at the Police Department. She always brought joy to everyone she met. Rita went full steam ahead with whatever she was doing. We joined the Red Hats together and had many a good time and lots of laughs. Her personality was as sparkling as her jewelry and clothes. I am going to miss her a lot.

The Bold Beautiful Babes of Brenham, of which Rita was an early member, would like to extend their condolences to Rita's family. This Red Hat group was formed by Kathy Markward as Queen Mother in August 2004. The group has expanded over the four years of its existance and now includes many more ladies than the original ones. Old or new members enjoyed the friendship of Rita and the fun to be had with her a part of the group. We've missed her when her health did not permit her to be an active part of the group.
We miss her now. Barbara Wise, acting Queen Mother of the Bold Beautiful Babes of Brenham.
