Nevilee Toppel Dallmeyer - Guestbook

To the Family of Artist Dallmeyer,

I've had in my possession one of your loved one's small paintings for the past 5 years.

Having lived in Texas most of my life, when my husband & I decided to pursue his doctoral education in Scotland, I found myself regretful that we didn't have our own Texas bluebonnet photography to take with us.

As I shared this with one of our church members while visiting at her home, she walked out of the room for a moment & then back in with a newly unframed painting of Nevilee's. It captures the image of a beautiful hillside of bluebonnets & other wildflowers before a small chapel atop the hill. I was amazed at this unselfish gesture & treasured my 'piece of home' that would pack perfectly inbetween articles of clothing in a suitcase that would move me across the ocean.

So I wanted you to know that just over a week before Mrs. Dallmeyer passed away one of her paintings arrived with me in Scotland as a prized possession, sitting like a miniature portal on a mantle in the United Kingdom but bringing our hearts when needed back to the beauty of Texas.

So a belated Thank You to your Nevilee Dallmeyer. We are back in Texas now, but intend to live around the world & God-willing will continue to bring her artistry with us for the journey.

Love,

Dear Marilyn, Buddy and Family,

It is with sincere and deep sympathy that we mourn the loss of dear Nevilee. She was a wonderful and sweet lady. I had the privilege of knowing her in many ways including driving together to Tuesday Morning circle meetings, and the Fortnightly Meetings. She was always cheerful and jolly and dressed to the hilt. She had many friends who admired her talents and many have pictures she painted. She gave me and my daughters each one of her bluebonnet paintings which we highly cherish. Our love,

Nevilee was my aunt and my son's great-aunt for almost 48 years. Had I not married her nephew, Thomas, I would not have had the privilege of knowing her. She was a gracious lady who loved her family dearly. She will be missed, but we are sure she is now in the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
