Michael Kmiec

Michael “Mike” Edward Kmiec, age 58 of Brenham, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at his residence.

Michael was born September 17, 1952 in Brenham to parents Willie and Stella (Jezierski) Kmiec. He graduated from Brenham High School, graduated from Blinn College and attended Sam Houston State University. Michael was co-manager of Willie’s Steakhouse Restaurant for many years. Michael was employed as a machinist with Automation Technology, Inc. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Elks Lodge #979 where he was past Exalted Ruler. His hobbies included golf, fishing and cooking.

His parents, sister-in-law Sandra Kmiec and nephew Samuel Jacob preceded him in death.

Survivors are his loving family: brother Richard Kmiec, sisters and brothers-in-law Louise and Fred Kessel, Barbara and Walter Thane, Esther and Calvin Landry and Debbie and Mark Jacob; along with nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a Rosary scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, February 24 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Monsignor Benedict Zientek officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

A celebration of life mass to be offered at a later date due to the renovation of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Pallbearers are nephews Robert Thane, James Lynn Kmiec, Willie Kmiec, Craig Landry, Jason Landry, Terry Landry, Chase Jacob and Curtis Zwahr. Honorary pallbearers are B. R. “Mac” McLendon, Steve Brown, Mel Glysen, Members of Elks #979 and Automation Technology Employees.
