Obituary

Michael James Dudich was born on March 24, 1981 to parents Tim Dudich and Karen
Vesper Winkelmann in Akron, Ohio. He was baptized at Messiah Lutheran Church on May 24,
1981 and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church on June, 4 1995. He graduated with the
Brenham High School Class of 1999 and then attended Whittier College in California on both an
academic and soccer scholarship. As a student-athlete he was team captain and majored in
biology and art history.

There is no way to sum up who Michael was and the lasting impact his bright presence
had on everyone he met. He was the life of the party and that friendly and familiar smile to
brighten up any day.

He was a construction foreman and jack of all trades. He worked for Altman Dentistry,
the Hopkins family and in the oil and gas industry, he was a caretaker for his step-dad Bill
Winkelmann and grandma DeeDee in their end stages of life, and cared for grandpa Vesper up
until the day he got his angel wings. He was the definition of selflessness and truly had a heart for others.

He loved watching and playing all sports, especially golf and soccer, being outside,
singing and making up song lyrics and being out on the water fishing was his happy place. His
two greatest accomplishments would be his daughters, Rylie Jane Dudich and Zoey Lynn
Dudich, who he loved with every ounce of his being.

Michael is preceded in death by: his father, Tim Dudich; paternal grandparents, Ted and
Shirley Dudich, Carol Anderson; maternal grandma, Darla Vesper; step-dad, Bill Winkelmann;
uncles, David, Danny, and Teddy Dudich; step-grandparents, Leroy and Elvera Winkelmann.

He is survived by: his daughters, Rylie Jane Dudich and Zoey Lynn Dudich; mother,
Karen Winkelmann; grandpa, Bill Vesper; special companion, Christy Dudich; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Katie “Duke” and Kyle Yates, Shannon and Trey Meyer, Shane and Gabriel
Correa; nieces and nephews, Kalvin and Karter Yates, Kayegan Meyer, and Henry, Adam, Allie, and Hannah Correa; step-mom Karen Staggs; and bonus brothers, Tommy Staggs and “Wilford”
Hutchinson; aunts and uncles, Joyce Kryah, Keith Vesper, Wayne and Susan Winkelmann, Alan
and Danna Winkelmann; cousins, Danny and Shannon Dudich, Christina Dudich, Amy and
Jason Supak, Megan and Nate Whalen, Eric Winkelmann, Blake Winkelmann, Dane and
Bridget Winkelmann, Lauren Winkelmann.

If you were fortunate enough to know Mike, affectionately known as “Dudich” then your
life was touched by his fun-loving energy. He lived hard and he loved harder and he will forever be in our hearts.

Memorial services will be held at Brenham Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 6th at
10:30 am. There will be a celebration of life ceremony held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for his daughters, Rylie and Zoey.
