Mary Evelyn Maddox

Mary Evelyn Maddox, age 88 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

She was born October 11, 1936 in Gladewater, Texas to parents Errell and Maurine (Eaves) LaRoe. She was educated in the schools of Farmington, New Mexico. From an early age, Mary loved to dance. After graduation, she became a dance instructor. After relocating to Brenham, she opened her own dance studio, named Mary Maddox Academy of Dance, which she was involved with for many years. She met her husband Francisco on a trip to Mexico and they married September 5, 2006.

During her free time, Mary enjoyed traveling to Europe, Mexico, and Africa as well as spending time with friends, and reading mysteries.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving family includes: husband of over 18 years Francisco Rodriguez; son Cecil Grimes, Jr., wife Reeta and daughters Cereena and Cecilee; daughter Cynthia June Lacina and son Lee Neal; brother Don Laroe; and, special friend Caroline Gates-Groves.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 1pm until the funeral service begins at 3 pm in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Father Stephen Whaley officiating.

Graveside services will be Monday, December 23 at 11 am at Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, TX.
