Obituary

Lucille Eichler Miller, 95 passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023. Lucille was born on August 20, 1928 to Martin and Leonie Fuchs Eichler in Carmine, Texas, baptized in Warrenton, Texas and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas. She graduated from Brenham High School, attended Blinn College and was a graduate of the University of Texas where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. On September 11, 1954 she married A. C. Miller, Jr. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas.

Lucille was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was the Secretary of the Church Council for 3 years, served on the Worship Music and Arts Committee and attended Wednesday Bible group. She volunteered for 10 years at Alton Elementary School as a HOST mentor helping students improve their reading levels. She also enjoyed sharing family genealogy, fellowship with her Bridge Club and being involved in other local organizations. Lucille was an avid reader and stayed informed on current events. She also enjoyed reading books from local authors, and loved watching sports especially the Texas Longhorns.

Lucille was first and foremost a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and delighted in all of their accomplishments. She loved to travel with her family and friends and was able to go on many trips during her life. Lucille, affectionately known as “MiMi”, took great joy in cooking special meals for her family and hosting holiday events.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, A. C. Miller, Jr.; her parents Martin and Leonie Fuchs Eichler; her father and mother-in-law, Dr. Arthur and Sadie Knolle Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Laverne Miller; nephew Roger Miller; brother-in-law Culver Turlington and great nephew John Hanson.

Lucille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Carolyn Miller and daughter and son-in-law Marianne and Randy Hagen; granddaughter Allison (Brad) Trochta and great granddaughters Caroline, Lillian, and Addison; grandsons Dr. Austin Miller, Travis (Tarah) Wilson, Conner (Alyssa) Wilson; brother Dr. Elwood (Sue) Eichler; sister Jane Turlington; nieces Karen Barnes, Cherie (Tony) Hanson, Kathy (Terry) Schneider, Sara (Ray) Browning; nephews Martin Eichler, David (Shera) Eichler, Dan (Shari) Eichler, Scott Turlington and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel at 2300 Stringer Street. A visitation with the family present will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel. There will be a private committal service for the immediate family at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 305 West Third Street, Brenham or Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 East Blue Bell Rd, Brenham or the charity of your choice.

The family wishes to thank Silversage Assisted Living Center and Hospice Brazos Valley for their kindness, care and devotion for Lucille during the past few months. We are also grateful to those who visited and prayed with her as you were a blessing and comfort.
