Obituary

Lillie Vines, 98 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Scott & White Hospital-Brenham.

She was born November 15, 1912 in the Gay Hill Community to William and Anna (Brauner) Renz. She was baptized at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Carmine and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Gay Hill. After completing school, she moved to Brenham. She married Robert Gajeske in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Brenham. Lillie was employed by Southwestern Bell in Brenham, before being transferred to Houston in 1953. She retired February 4, 1968. After living in Houston for 33 years, Lillie returned to Brenham in 1985. After spending several years widowed, Lillie married Eldon Vines.

Lillie enjoyed having coffee and donuts with her dear friends. She kept in touch by phone with friends all over the country. Lillie kept an immaculate clean home. She enjoyed life, caring for herself and continuing to dance.

She was preceded in death by: parents; husbands Robert Gajeske and Eldon Vines; brother Ervin Renz, sisters Norma Ripple, Elsie Kolwes, Gearline Roehling; granddaughter Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Wolfenberger; grandson Paul Alan Gajeske.

Survivors include: daughter Nina Jane Little of Brenham; son Robert Gajeske, Jr. and wife Doris of Houston; grandchildren Cheryl Spivey, Jimmy Wolfenberger, Robert Gajeske, III, Lisa Wisenberger; great-grandchildren Misty Scott, Leah King, Courtney Gajeske, Elizabeth Wisenberger, Rebecca Wisenberger, Ashley Wolfenberger, Shelly Wolfenberger; great-great-grandchildren Kennedy Schooler, Bryce King, Tanner King, Ava Scott, Kylie Scott.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Also, the family invites friends to enjoy coffee and donuts and share memories beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, May 20th in the reception area at Brenham Memorial Chapel before funeral services begin at 10 a.m. with Rev. David L. Hansen officiating.

Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
