Lavonne (Fieseler) Hegefeld

Lavonne (Fieseler) Hegefeld, 73 of Brenham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at her home.

Lavonne was born in Brenham on November 18, 1950 to parents Ernest Jr. and Laura (Dannhaus) Fieseler. She was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. She was a 1969 honor graduate of Brenham High School. On April 5, 1970, Lavonne was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Roy Hegefeld, at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, where she remained an active member of the church and served in numerous leadership positions. Shortly after high school, Lavonne began working at a job that turned into a career at Brenham State School. After over 35 years of service, Lavonne retired as Assistant Director for Food Services for the Brenham State School.

Lavonne was a devoted wife and mother. After working a full day at the office, she always had a hot meal on the table for her family. She was an immaculate housekeeper, wonderful cook, and an overall great wife, mother, and friend. But most of all, Lavonne adored her grandchildren, treasuring her time as their “Nana.”

Lavonne is survived by: husband, Roy Hegefeld; children Heather and Brian Lohman and Ross and Kimberly Hegefeld; grandchildren Lila Lohman and Reid and Hadley Hegefeld; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, her nephew, and other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, December 18th from 8 a.m. - 7p.m., with family present from 5 - 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19th at 10 a.m. at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin with Pastor Jen Kindsvatter officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin and Hospice Brazos Valley.
