Obituary

Kathy Buck, 62, of Burton went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 3, 2012 in Scott & White Hospital-Brenham.

Kathryn Ann Goeke Buck was born January 2, 1950 in Brenham to Waldo and Angelie (Meyer) Goeke. She was baptized February 12, 1950 at her parent’s home by Rev. G. C. Senff and confirmed June 6, 1965 in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Rev. Willard Rother. She was a 1968 graduate of Bellville High School. In 1972 Kathy received her BS in Nursing Degree from Texas Women’s University.

On January 29, 1972 she married the love of her life, Curtis Buck in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. The two of them were happily married for over 40 years. Kathy truly enjoyed their time traveling together. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Landon and Marissa. Years later she celebrated the marriage of Marissa to Cliff Rudloff. She loved her family dearly and devoted her life to being there for their every need.

One of the greatest joys in her life was the birth of her grandchildren, Dawson and Hailey. As their “Momo,” she treasured the moments she spent with them reading books and coloring. The children spent many hours snuggling with her and even were blessed to have several family vacations creating many memories.

Kathy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brenham. Her faith and church family were a big part of her life as well. She took great pride in her profession as a registered nurse and showed gentle compassion for her patients. After her years as a nurse in the clinical setting, she spent much of her time still caring for others through her compassionate calls and inspirational spirit. No matter the situation, those around her were always greeted with a beautiful smile that could brighten any day.

Kathy spent her life giving to others. Her kind and caring ways always put others first. She was known for sending many cards and gifts to so many for special occasions and sometimes “just because.” She enjoyed spending time with her many friends. The times she spent playing cards and eating out were always cherished.

She was preceded in death by her father Waldo Goeke, mother-in-law Dora Buck Bresler and step-father-in-law Louis Bresler.

Survivors include: her loving husband of forty years, Curtis Buck; mother, Angelie Goeke; son, Landon Buck and special friend Caris Hoffpauir; daughter and son-in-law Marissa and Cliff Rudloff; grandchildren Dawson Rudloff and Hailey Rudloff; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Vickie Goeke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law David Buck and Evelyn and sister-in-law Lucille Dabbs; along with numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and cherished friends.

The family gives special thanks to her wonderful friends and caregivers, along with the staff at Hospice and Scott & White- Brenham who went above and beyond.
