Obituary

Peacefully, after nearly a century of love and celebration with her family and friends, Josephine Koepf completed her journey on this earth on April 26, 2005. Josephine was born March 2, 1913 in Teague, Texas to Chester Otto and Rhoena Presley. Long time residents of Dallas, she and her husband had recently moved to Brenham, Texas. Preceded in death by a brother, Chester Otto, Jr., and a daughter, Roxanne Koepf Schneider. Josephine is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ernest Henry Koepf, her daughter Nina Hopkins, her husband Mike Hopkins, and grandchildren, Holly and Michael. She is also survived by her grandson Marc Schneider, his wife Cheryl, and their children, Casey, Amanda, and Jaden of Seabrook, Texas; granddaughter Melissa, and her husband Tim Sabo, their sons Joshua and Christopher of Houston, Texas; granddaughter Wendy, and her husband Carl Halliday, their children Natalie, Rachel, and Eric of Kingwood, Texas; and granddaughter Amy Schneider of Dublin, California, as well as several nephews, a niece, and their families and special friends of many, many years.

Josephine enjoyed her three years of living in Paris, France, and was an active member of the American Women’s Club. She has spent the majority of her life in Dallas, Texas. Active in her family’s life, her caring and talents and interests ranged from PTA, St. Michael & All Angels and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Altar Guild, PEO Sisterhood, Lazy Susan Garden Club, Parnassus, and other book clubs, bridge clubs, and Do-Si-Do Square Dancing Club. She also enjoyed golf, traveling, and thrived on learning. The ocean, birds, flowers, and things of beauty gave her much happiness, but her greatest joy and devotion was being with, and doing things for her family.
