Johnny will be greatly missed. He and my husband, Judge Roy May became good friends many years ago. He called one day and asked him to come out he had something for him. It was a fried turkey. Johnny then told Roy, if he brought a turkey out he would fry it every year. I always enjoyed going out to pick it up because I could see how they became such good friends just listening to their visits. After a few years the Judge decided he was going to start frying them himself. I did miss our visits with Johnny. I know they are now reunited and their friendship, also. Johnny certainly had a warm welcome.

To the Wonderful Lacina Family,

Johnny was an all round GREAT individual. He knew his law, but could turn off the law and switch to a beer with friends in a heartbeat!!!!!!!
His heart was as big as Washington County!!!!
I knew Johnny most all my life and I cannot ever recall him saying anything bad about another individual. We have lost a great man. Thank you God for sharing him with us for over 70 years.

Wow, I already miss Johnny so much. He was the oldest cousin of our Hodde family, and I was next in age. We grew up together and played together at our grandparents' house from the time we were young. I remember how envious I was of Johnny as a teenager when he had his upstairs "suite" at his home and got the Good Vibrations Beach Boys album. Then, later in life I went to work for him and my dad as a legal secretary for 9 years at Hodde & Lacina. When my husband needed a new president of the Germania Local Chapter, Johnny stepped in to do that job. Last year, he was so happy to find out he was going to be a grandfather because he and I discussed how we probably wouldn't ever have grandkids. He was always ready to help out, and I looked up to him as my older cousin. I remember all the good times, and we will miss him. I know you will miss him even more, Jonas, Lorna, Tim, Katie, Michelle, and Julian.

Johnny was a great friend to Camp For All and its campers. We will not soon forget his enthusiasm for going "Over The Edge" of a 31-story building to support us. Our condolences to his family, and all those who will miss him.

No doubt your hearts are very heavy and you are feeling your loss acutely. My condolences to the Lacina family.

I learned so much about your Dad from the obituary, Rachael. He was clearly a man of varied interests who lived a rich life indeed.

My sincere and true condolences to the family and close friends of my Baylor undergraduate and law school friend and classmate Johnny Lacina. Although our life’s adventures went in different directions we reconnected and spent many days in Waco attending Baylor football games and men/women basketball games. More important than the games were our times together with Johnny, Carey and in recent years his special companion, Cathy, walking around Waco and Baylor’s campus bringing to life our Baylor adventures. RIP, my friend!

My thoughts and prayers to Johnny's family. Hold your treasured memories near to your heart!

For my family, he's been our attorney for 4 generations. He handled my Dad's family land from my Grannie to my Dad; from my Dad to me, and from me to my children. It was crazy to see signatures all the way from my Grannie to me! I last saw him before his retirement when he helped me legalize my final wishes. What a great person he was!

May he be resting peacefully in Heaven, in the mansion that God promised to him.

What a great man. Mr. Lacina and I shared an interest in all things railroad, and we would exchange pictures of our models. I always enjoyed looking at my phone and seeing I had a text from him. I'll miss that. In person, he was always personable and genuine. My condolences to the family, and love to all.

Johnny was real...he was so genuine. There was never a pretext or attitude...just Johnny. He touched so many lives in countless different ways. He lived a fruitful life and has left a wonderful legacy of fairness and friendliness for all of us to admire...and his family to continue. (And, he loved Italian Cream Cakes).
God is good,

Johnny was a great friend, wonderful attorney and a devoted husband and father. He was one of the first people I met when I moved here from Houston over 30 years ago. As I pursued my real estate career here, Johnny was a person I could contact for expert advice and I chose him as my personal attorney at least 30 years ago and he remained so until his retirement. I know he will be missed by everyone who knew him and as I, respected him as a man, an attorney and a very good person. My condolences to his family and many friends.

I am so sorry for the loss of Johnny. I had worked with Johnny professionally for several years but never really knew him personally. In 2021 I had some friends in town for a visit and we were listening to live music at a local favorite spot. Johnny sat down next to us with his sweet dog. We visited and enjoyed his company hearing his stories. He made a friend out of us that day. I will be lifting up his family and loved ones in my prayers.

Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “Jesus plainly told her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.

Hate to see you go, Johnny. I will never forget you coming in the back door to my office when I was a young attorney looking for a snack in the kitchen. You were always a pleasure to deal with and kind to others. You will be sorrowfully missed, but I know you are happy rummaging in a kitchen somewhere in Heaven.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lacina family. Johnny was a fine man who I looked up to when I was in the Boy Scouts in the late 1960's with his younger brother Tim. He drove us back and forth to Camp Strake, helped his dad and the other fathers of Troop 742 and was a solid, Christian mentor.

My deepest condolences.
