So long dad, you will never be forgotten as I have so many wonderfull memories of you and times spent together. You made me what I am today and am told we are the same in many ways. I can't imagin a better compliment. See you later.

OF UNCLE JOHN OF WHEN I VISTED YOU ALL IN TEXAS OR
YOU ALL CAME TO GEORGIA.

My Uncle John was able to teach my sister, Jenanne, her ABC's and numbers while he was leaving the Navy after the Korean War. He wanted to be able to have her take his messages when the phone rang!! The elementary school in Brentwood allowed her to skip to the third grade after the 1st year because she was so smart. When I finally got my third grade speller I had to study it all summer to keep up with her.

If there is anything I can do for the grand children to help with their education, the please just ask!! My father, James S. Murphy, and my Uncle John would expect any niece and nephew to stay in school and finish their educations to the best of their abilities in order to help Aunt Jane through this difficult time.

Dear Jane and family,

Words cannot express how heavy my heart is for all of you. I too have so many precious memories of this wonderful man. I loved him like a brother.

Bob and I will miss him terribly.

I am claiming for you and for us all of the Lord's promises in His Word concerning comfort for the grieving.

I flew with John many times when I was based in Houston in the late 1960s. I was a new hire and John was my example of what an airline pilot should be-great pilot, true gentleman and outstanding leader.

John was a friend i met while working at Case in Brenham , we had the same birthday May 8 ,I will miss him .

We are so sorry for your loss. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with John. We will not be able to attend the memorial service as we will be in New Mexico for a long planned trip. Our thoughts and prayers will be there with you. If there is anything you need please let us know

People come and go out of our lives everyday. I am so honored to have had John Murphy come into my life years ago. I had not seen Mr. Murphy in years, but had thought of him quite often. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Jane, Michael and James,
We were your neighbors from 1973 through 1976 and thought the world of your family. We remained friends for years after we moved from your neighborhood. We can't believe that John has left us. We haven't seen your family in a number of years but we have thought about ya'll numerous times. We cannot exspress how sorry we are for your loss. Your family will always be special to us as our first neighbors when we were first married. Our deepest sympathy.

Dear Aunt Jane and Family,

Uncle John will be sorely missed. I had the great fortune of being able to visit a couple of times at your house during a business trip meeting. Uncle John's cool demeanor and story telling immediately put me to ease and suggested my visit wasn't an intrusion but rather a celebration of his and your life together.

He was a very kind and gracious man. We should measure everyone's life by his yardstick.

Dearest Mike and family,

Jon and I both know how hard it is to lose a parent - Jon lost his mother when he was 19 and I lost my dad 6 1/2 years ago. It is so hard to let go of someone who gave you life and influenced your life as much as a parent does. Words are hard to find after losing such a cherished man such as John. He was always friendly, had a joke or two and maybe more than that in words of wisdom. John you are gone, but you will never be forgotten. I'll miss you the rest of my life. May God continue to bless your family.
