Jimmy Ray Smith

Jimmy Smith, age 73, of Brenham passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan.

On Monday, November 4, 2013 The Smith family will receive friends from 12:30 PM and a memorial service will be held on at 2:00 PM in Brenham’s First Baptist Church. Rev. Ross Shelton and Rev. Terry Sikes will officiate.

Jimmy was born January 20, 1940 in Cameron, Texas to Freida (Friemel) and Joe H. Smith. He received his BS degree from Sam Houston State Teacher’s College and became a chemist for Dow Chemical. On August 2, 1968 he and Florence Croft were married in Clute, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Survivors include wife Florence Smith of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Crystal Smith of League City, Texas; grandsons Trent and Brice; sister and brother-in-law Esta and Ralph Record of Bryan, Texas.

Memorials may be given to the 2013 New Facilities Development Fund at Brenham’s First Baptist Church, 304 N. Market, Brenham TX 77833
