Jerry Finke

Jerry Finke, age 72, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Scott & White Hospital, Brenham. Visitation is Thursday, December 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Rev. David Hansen, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jerry was born August 4, 1941 in Brenham to Robert “Doodle” and Lena (Schulze) Finke. He was baptized September 21, 1941 by Pastor Paul Gogolin and confirmed March 25, 1956 by Pastor Louis Kramer both at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, and where Jerry was a life-long member. He attended Washington County School at Prairie Hill. Jerry was a State Supported Living Center resident since 1987 and was also employed at the Brenham Opportunity Center Workshop. Throughout this work program, he dearly loved the many achievements that were accomplished.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving family: sister & brother-in-law Janet & Harry Wehring; one nephew & wife Gerald & Laurie Wehring; one niece & husband Sherry & Johnny Randermann, three great nieces Jennifer Lynn & Ryan Schroeder, their son Rhett, Jill Dawn Randermann & fiancé Trevor Eckert, Jessica Nicole & Kevin Mertz, their sons Jaden & Korbin along with many cousins.

The family wishes to thank the Staff at Bowie-C as well as all the other staff who has helped care for Jerry throughout the years

Pallbearers are Gerald Wehring, Johnny Randermann, Ryan Schroeder, Kevin Mertz, Trevor Eckert, Onis Finke, Bobby Finke and Marvin Wellmann.

Memorials may be given to the St. John Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
