Obituary

Dorothy Jean “Jeanie” Stepan, 89, peacefully passed away on August 17, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Jeanie was born February 18, 1934 in New Wehdem, Texas to Fritz and Hildegard Meyer.

Jeanie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was involved in Ladies Group. She was also involved in County Fair Judging and E.E.A. Club. Jeanie had a special talent with children but she also enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, sewing and very much enjoyed entertaining people at her home.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Allen; son Doug Stepan; parents in law John and Lillie Stepan; brothers in law and sisters-in-law John Alfred Stepan, Clarence and Glen Stepan, David R. Stepan; sisters in-law Billie Joyce Stepan and Eunice Stepan; sister and brother in law Doris and Seth House; niece Diana Stepan and nephew Clifford Hoff.

Surviving loving family includes; daughter Sherry Kruger and husband Darrell; daughter-in-law Diana Cone Stepan; grandchildren Kristy and Brett Veith, Bradley and Kim Winters, Chad and Rhonda Kruger, Kellan Kruger, Mitchell and Rush Stepan, Candace Stepan and Clint and Crystal Stepan; great-grandchildren Anneliese and Brennam Kruger, Weston Krolczyk, Victoria, Cody and Brielynn Veith, Lacey Stepan and Brodie and Emma Winters; brothers in law and sisters in law Daniel Stepan, Roy Stepan, Billy and Kathy Stepan, Sue Stepan, Donald and Martha Stepan, Herman and Betty Hoff and Lily and Delbert Schultz; numerous nieces and nephews and caregiver and special friend for many years Sarah Thomas.

A visitation for Jeanie will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 8am to 7pm with family present from 5pm to 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 10am at Christ Lutheran Church located at 1104 Carlee Street, Brenham, Texas with Pastor Mark Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Brett Veith, Mitchell Stepan, Clint Stepan, Chad Kruger, Kellan Kruger, Larry House, Russell House, Michael House and Bradley Winters.

Memorial may be donated to Christ Lutheran church.
