James (Jim) Wright Lee

James (Jim) Wright Lee, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

James was born on December 3, 1939 in Gilmer, Texas to A.W. and Geneieve Lee. Jim spent his life in service to his country.

He began his life’s journey as a Marine during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he devoted his life to law enforcement as a Texas State Trooper protecting the citizens of Texas. His service did not end there; he then became an esteemed United States Marshal where he committed his life to justice and the rule of the law.

Upon retiring he enjoyed the country life working with cattle and driving the fields in his tractor.

As a Christian, he gave endless assistance to other veterans in need. His compassion for them was boundless.

In addition to many friends, Jim leaves behind his loving wife Cynthia; sons Marc and wife Maria Lee and Eric and wife Christy Wynn; Grandsons Colby (Brittany) Lee, Walter Aguilar and Lane Wynn; Great granddaughters Cylie, Lydia, and Kera Lee.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 10:45am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas
