Herbert F. Bosse

Herbert F. Bosse, 90 of Washington, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Care Center of Brenham.

He was born December 24, 1919 to Fritz and Louise (Holtkamp) Bosse in Washington. Herbert was baptized and confirmed in Friedens United Church of Christ of Washington, where he remained a lifelong member and served on the church council. He attended Washington School. From 1944-1946, he served in the U.S. Army. Returning to the family farm, he worked in cotton farming, ranching, as a dairyman and in carpentry. He married Mabel Horstmann Randermann November 20, 1982. Herbert enjoyed dancing, playing cards and especially doing work on his tractor.

He was preceded in death by parents, wife Mabel on March 1, 2001, sisters Elsie Stolz and husband Herbert, Cordelia Stolz.

His surviving loving family includes: nephews and spouses, Skeeter and Dorothy Stolz of Navasota, Wayne and Pam Stolz of Lufkin, Ray and Sally Stolz, James and Linda Stolz, Elroy and Denise Stolz all of Washington; brother-in-law, Oscar Stolz of Washington; step-children and spouses, Shirley and Arnold “Bubba” Dreyer, Jr., Delphine Randermann, Nelson and Diana Randermann all of Brenham.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 19th from 5-7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 20th at 10 a.m. in Friedens Church of Washington UCC with Rev. Dr. George Klett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skeeter Stolz, Wayne Stolz, Ray Stolz, James Stolz, Elroy Stolz, Glenn Fuqua and Roger Finke. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Mohr, Arnold Dreyer, Jr., Hilbert Goessler, Alvin ”Doc” Holtkamp and Wilbert Horstmann.
