Obituary

Helen Louise Hafer Sebesta passed away on July 16, 2007 at Kruse Village in Brenham, Texas.

Helen was born on January 14, 1916, in Brenham, Texas, to Henry Carl Hafer and Louise Lehmann Hafer. She graduated from Brenham High School and attended Blinn College and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. In 1938, she married Olvin Frank Sebesta from Bellville, Texas who preceded her in death in 1995. She travelled extensively with her husband during the course of his career with Texaco, living in London for a number of years in the 1970's. Upon his retirement, they moved to DeCordeva Bend, Texas where they enjoyed many years travelling, fishing and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Following her husband's death, she returned to her hometown of Brenham, where she spent her remaining years at Kruse Village.

Survived by son, Charles Sebesta of Katy, Texas and his wife Vicki; daughter Lou Ann Mahaney of Arlington, Texas and her husband Parks; grandchildren, Chip Mahaney of Richmond, Viginia, Hollie Schmidt of Lexington, Massachusetts, Heather Vail of Friendswood, Texas, Jennifer Hollingshead of Katy, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Elizabeth Sebesta Woodall.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 20 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s TV Ministry, 305 W. 3rd St., Brenham, Texas 77833.
