Obituary

On the morning of July 11, 2011, God in his infinite wisdom and mercy called Harold Dahman to his eternal home. Born September 20, 1925 to Herman and Emma Blasé Dahman, Harold grew up in the Sandy Hill community of Washington County. He was baptized October 18, 1925 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Sandy Hill, and was confirmed there on May 26, 1940. He attended Washington County School and graduated from Brenham High School in 1943. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. On August 21, 1953, he married Merle Hillegeist, and they were blessed with 57 years of marriage and 2 children.

He retired from Exxon after 38 years of service, and could be found on the farm raising cattle.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Merle, his parents and his brother David.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Michael Wells of Watauga, TX, his son and daughter-in-law Daryl and Stephanie Dahman of Houston, TX, three granddaughters, Jeannie Marie Keen and her husband Kyle of Levelland, TX, and Erin and Alyssa Dahman of Houston, TX, and his great grandson Elijah Lynne Keen.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Jacobs, officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
