Grace A. Holtkamp

Grace A. Holtkamp age 81 of Brenham passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2005 in Trinity Medical Center.

She was born January 16, 1924 to Fred J. and Minnie (Foltermann) Steinbach in Washington County. She was baptized March 23, 1924 by Rev. H. Weber and confirmed April 9, 1939 by Rev. Rudolph Becker both in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. She was educated in the Kuykendall School. On December 27, 1945, she was married to Willie R. “Pete” Holtkamp in St. Matthew Lutheran Church by Rev. W.C. Poehlmann. Mrs.Holtkamp was employed by J.C. Penney for 30 years, where she worked in the shoe department.

Her loving family includes: daughter, Janis Loesch and husband Robert of Brenham; grandsons, Barney Loesch of Brenham and friend Ashley Noojin of Houston and William Loesch and fiancé Michelle Thorp of Galveston; brother, Edgar Steinbach and wife Carrie of Bellville; sister-in-law, Jeanette Steinbach of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Holtkamp was preceded in death by parents, husband Willie Holtkamp on February 23, 1998, brother Leon Steinbach, nephew Jeffrey Steinbach and niece Collette Steinbach.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Goessler, Gary Goessler, Karl Goessler, Don Holtkamp, Rawls Steinbach, Charles Holtkamp, Gregg Appel, Albert Wayne Ehlert III, Dr. Steve Bridge, Dennis Tipton and John Louis Steinbach.

Memorials may given to Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village, American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Foundation or your charity of choice.
