Florian "Flattie" Bolcerek

Florian “Flattie” Bolcerek, 91 of Brenham, passed away February 16, 2025.

Flattie was born June 11, 1933 in the Klump community of Washington County to Louis and Frances (Jankowiak) Bolcerek. He was involved in the family farm and ranch work. He also worked alongside his brothers with Bolcerek Fencing. Flattie did bulldozing work as well.

In his younger years, he raced stock cars at Navasota Speedway. Up until recently, he could be seen on his 4 wheeler.

Flattie had a sense of humor as well as a loving tender heart. He regularly attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, until his health declined. He also was a member of the Latium Fire Department.

Flattie was preceded in death by parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Max Baranowski, Sr., Regina and John Antkowiak; brothers, Charles Bolcerek, Bruno Bolcerek, Julian Bolcerek; and sister-in-law, Louise Bolcerek.

Surviving family includes brothers, Albin Bolcerek, Bennie Bolcerek and wife Margie; sister-in-law, Bonnie Bolcerek; numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 20th from 8am-7pm, with rosary beginning at 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 21st at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Bolcerek, Craig Bolcerek, Gary Bolcerek, Max Baranowski, Jr., Dannie Antkowiak, and James Brending. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Muchow, Darrell Weed, Stanley Cendalski, Alfred Kenjura, Henry Jankowiak, Alexander Jelke, and Susan Church.

The family would like to give special thanks to Flattie’s caregiver, Susan Church for her help and thoughtfulness.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
