I know you have many happy memories of her, and may those comfort you now. You were such a good sister, Marlyn, as I have witnessed that many times. We are so sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. She was a good person and sorry we have not been in touch in a while. She was a good friend. She will be missed.

I fell in love with Evelyn when I first saw her in 1965 at Blinn College. I fell in love with her Wind Song perfume also and saw to it that we shared a microscope in Biology class. She never knew that I often would post myself near her parked car just so I could see her as she left campus with her girlfriends.

We married 4 years later. She supported me and moved with me to develop my working career. During our marriage she made many friends and touched many lives through our churches and neighbors. Due to differences and private problems, our marriage ended after 23 years.

However, we remained friends and talked often--we spoke briefly the day before she died. A big part of me died with her. I never knew anybody with the giving capacity that Evelyn had. The last years of her life were difficult--she battled emotional and health problems. But she knew God and now knows peace and comfort.
