Evelyn Slade

Evelyn Weiss Slade, 64 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center.

Evelyn was born September 8, 1946 in Bellville to Otto and Helen (Loesch) Weiss. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome. Evelyn graduated from Bellville High School and Southwest Texas State University with a degree in elementary education. Prior to moving to Brenham, she resided in the Austin and Bleiblerville areas. Evelyn was very artistic. She loved to paint, sew and cook. Having no children of her own, she was especially fond of her nephews and great niece.

She is preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Kent Antkowiak.

Loving family includes: sister and brother-in-law Marlyn and Mike Antkowiak; nephews Jon Antkowiak and wife Pam, Scott Antkowiak and Will Antkowiak; great niece Mary Antkowiak. She had great love for her pet dog, Coco.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 9th at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, December 10th at Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome with Reverend David M. Klak officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
