Emily Zientek

Emily Regina Zientek of Chappell Hill was born on October 2, 1931 in Brenham, TX to Martin and Mary Skweres. She passed away on August 4, 2021 at the age of 89.

Emily enjoyed many years of retirement on the farm sitting on the back porch with her dogs. She loved making quilts, baking coffeecakes, fishing and canning vegetables in the spring.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Rosemary, brothers; Benjamin and Ike, parents and husband Florian. She is survived by her sons; Patrick (Frances), Paul (Loretta), and Jan. Grandchildren; Larry (Stephanie) Galik, Kristi (Andy) Vannatta, Daniel Zientek, Erica (Russell) Edwards and Jake Zientek. Great grandchildren; Tanner and Luke Galik, Hayden, Hudson and Haylee Vannatta and Evan Edwards. She is also survived by her sister in law; Lucille Skweres.

A visitation for Emily will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary beginning at 6:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church located at 9175 FM 1371, Chappell Hill, Texas with the burial to follow at the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be : Larry Galik, Daniel Zientek, Jake Zientek, Jerry Skweres, Mark Skweres and Kenneth Skweres.

The family wishes to thank Vivian Meleski for the wonderful care she provided to our mother for the last year.
