Elwood Wehring

Elwood Wehring, 79 of the Sandy Hill Community of Washington County, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012.

He was born May 19, 1932 in Brenham to Willie and Hildegard (Bohne) Wehring. He attended Sandy Hill School, Brenham High School and the University of Houston. Elwood served in the U.S. Navy, two years in the reserves and two years active duty during the Korean Conflict. On March 17 1956, he married Eloise Ellermann in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Elwood was a mechanical engineer, working with Pipe Specialties, Inc and serving as Vice President. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His loving family includes: wife, Eloise Wehring; daughter, Missy Boutch and husband Greg; son, Mike Wehring and wife Gayle; grandchildren, Garrett Sunderhuse, Taylor Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Kathy Wehring; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Melva Ellermann, Virginia and Brian Fischer, Sandra and Ralph Becker; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 3rd from 5-7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be Sunday, March 4th at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Wehring, Jonathan Wehring, David Novelli, Charles Ellermann, Gary Ellermann, John Chandler, Darrell Fischer, Troy Becker, Mark Homeyer.
