Obituary
Dorothy Lee Baranowski Michalak, 91, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023.
Dorothy was born in Brenham, Texas and baptized on November 6, 1932. She graduated from Brenham High School in 1951. On October 4, 1953, she married Charles Patrick Michalak at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brenham. Dorothy worked at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company for several years and then stayed home to be a housewife and to care for her handicapped mother and family. She was a devoted daughter; wife, mother, grandmother; and great grandmother, and she truly enjoyed being with her family. She loved being "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even their friends. She loved attending the sports games of her grandkids. She was their biggest fan. On many days, you could often find her admiring the birds in her backyard, especially the redbirds.
Dorothy was preceded in death by: husband, Charles Patrick Michalak; parents, Steve and Annie Wrobleski Baranowski; sister and brother- in-law, Natalie and L.C. Bosse; nephew, Richard Bosse; and- granddaughter, Annie June Michalak.
Dorothy is survived by: sons and daughters-in-law, Robbie and Poo Michalak, Allan and Sharon Michalak, and daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Tommy Henderson; grandchildren, Brent and Chelsea Michalak, Chase Michalak, Dixie and Preston Gates, Braylynn Henderson, and Taylen Henderson; great-grandchildren, Reese Michalak, Lane Michalak, Ivan Michalak, Daisy Gates, and Cooper Gates.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 29th from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Services will be held Saturday, December 30th, with rosary recited at 9:30 am and Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham with Father Everado Cazarez officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Henderson, Timmy Bosse, Brent Michalak, Chase Michalak, Preston Gates, and Taylen Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham or to Amedisys Hospice.
