Dorothy Lavina Stanford

Dorothy Lavina Stanford, 92, of Brenham joined her heavenly father on June 27, 2024.

Dorothy was born January 12, 1932 in Louise, Texas to Emil and Mabel (Bissett) Schoeneberg. She was baptized March 20, 1932 in El Campo by Pastor R.A. Schmidt and confirmed in 1947 by Pastor Edwin Lampe. Dorothy married the love of her life, Robert “Gene” Stanford on May 30, 1954 in El Campo, Texas.

Dorothy was an exceptional homemaker and mother. She enjoyed the Washington County Fair, gardening, canning and baking.

Dorothy is preceded in death by parents, husband, brother-in-law James Stern, sisters-in-law Ethelene “Sissy” Schoenberg and Esther Stanford; brother-in-law Clinton Stanford.

Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are children David Stanford (Sista), Michael Stanford, Diane Ralph (Carl) and Linda Stanford; Grandchildren Vincent Stanford, Christopher Stanford, Alethia Stanford, Jessica Stanford, Robert (R.J.) Stanford, Shannon Forbes (Tyler) and Nichole Ralph’ Great-Grandchildren Trace Forbes, Layne Forbes, Noah Moore, Valerie Stanford; Sister Alice Stern; Brother Truman Schoeneberg.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 2pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas with Pastor Glenn Schoeneberg officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to Hospice Brazos Valley.
