Doris L. Rust

Doris Lavell Rust,78, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, surrounded by her loving children at Trinity Care Center in Brenham, TX.

She was born December 8, 1929 in Caldwell, TX to Thermon Emmitt Maddox and Dora Nell Dean Maddox. After graduating from Caldwell High School in 1947, she completed Modern Beauty College. Doris married Bernhard Rust on October 16, 1949 and they lived a life filled with love for God, each other, and their family. They moved to Brenham, TX in 1953.

Doris was preceded in death by Ben, her loving husband of 48 years, her parents, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Erwin Steinkamp and Edna Steinkamp, Herbert and Hilda Quebe and Barry Rust.

She is survived by son Pat Rust of Cocoa, FL (wife Judy); daughter Virginia Tiemann of Brenham, TX (husband Clamens, Jr.) and son Allen Rust of Brenham, TX (wife Shirley); grandchildren Wendy Kittleson, Joshua Rust, Daniel Rust, Amy Hart, Jessica Bram, Steven Rust, James Rust and Mark Rust; great-grandchildren Brooke Kittleson, Kaitlyn Kittleson, Zachary Rust, Lane Hart, Jake Bram, Brady Bram, Michaela Rust, Cheyanne Rust and Riley Rust; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Calvin Graham of Caldwell, TX; sister-in-law Lydia Rust of Brenham, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was an active member of Brenham Church of Christ for 55 years, where she will always be remembered for encouraging others by sending cards, making phone calls, and greeting everyone who attended services. She loved photographing people and sharing her photos with them. She was truly a wonderful Christian wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 29, at Brenham Memorial Chapel, Brenham, TX.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Doug Hall officiating and David King reciting the eulogy. Burial to follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Collier, Beal Crane, Tom Burrus, Bill Graham, Troy Gleaves, Jim Bruce. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Naron, Tom Kent and Wayne Arnold.

Memorial donations may be made to the Brenham Church of Christ Building Fund.
