Sending Love to all the Family, and an understanding of your difficulty of losing a husband, father, friend to so many. May you feel God’s peace in the days ahead, and treasure the memories. He was a wonderful, fun, kind, caring man who will be missed.

We sadly say goodbye for now to a man who was certainly one of a kind. All you have to do is read all of the words written by his grandchildren to really know him.

I know I was not his favorite partner in Pitch, and he might have moaned and groaned a bit, but he never refused - out loud anyway! Actually I have long felt more like a sister to Don than a friend. I will miss him and the way he picked on me.

Don and Rodger always found things to talk about, usually the best way to fix something broken. Oh and, of course, they liked to fight over Suzann's chocolate cakes and pies.

Speaking of Suzann, you were such a wonderful, loving, and caring wife to Don. You sat with him so sweetly - I know your love made his passing very peaceful.

Go in peace, dear Don, and take comfort in the glorious legacy you left hehind in your children and grandchildren!

Don was a good friend from the time he was 7 and I was 6 years old. We spent a lot of time together hunting and fishing along west Madagorda Bay. Our favorite was hunting geese, both Canadian and Snow. We also enjoyed catching flounders by gigging them and harvesting oysters. I will aiways remember Don as a boy growing up having such a good time outside. I suppose there are not msny of us that will have enjoyed life as much as Don did when it is our turn to complete our journey. Don will be missed and his time spent with us will always be treasured. May the pease of the Lord always be with Don, Susie, and their family. Don, you will always be my good friend forever, S.A.

So very sorry to hear of Don's passing and his battle with Parkinson's Disease. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Jones in my work with the Heritage Society of Washington County and enjoyed visits with Don and Suzann at these events as well as Aggie events. What a successful individual Don was in his work in construction and a kind, giving man as I knew him! Delightful couple in Don and Suzann and glad to know them. Sharing my sympathy, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Cherish your memories of your special Aggie and loved one!

Don and Suzann's move from Brenham to College Station was a blessing for our team of Parkinson's disease fighters at Rock Steady Boxing. Don pulled on his boxing gloves from day one and demonstrated to all that he was determined to tackle PD with the same energy and success that carried him through his career as a strong corporate leader. It was very difficult to see the distressed faces of his fellow PD fighters when I shared the sad news of Don's passing at the gym on Monday. We think the world and all of this wonderful couple. Our prayers are with Suzann and their children. May the many treasured memories you have of Don's life help change your sorrow to joy someday. Godspeed, dear Don.

My Grandpa was one of my favorite people in the whole world and he will be missed. I got to tell him I loved him before and got to hold his hand after. He was around loved ones. Quite a few of my friends knew him from our camping trips to the old ranch and how awesome he was and just loved being around them. He wanted to be around and sit around the fire and tell stories to them all. He will be forever missed by many.

A certain kind of presence will be missing from the room. I will for sure miss pretending I wasn't excited to be on his team in a game of Pitch. His way of playing was so hard to follow!! But I loved it. It always made you think. And now we kind of termed when a game is a grandpa's game, or hand.

I was his favorite granddaughter (ONLY granddaughter) ?? We would howl at the cayotes and fight over the moon around the fire outside the house he built. You learned NEVER to leave your Oreos on the table if he asked you to grab the milk. They would somehow go missing! I won't forget our times in the garden and eating veggies that he would cut off and hand over to me. The asparagus was the best. He was my model for my Photography class photos I needed in High School and was so fun to just take pictures of him working around the ranch.

The past few years I would talk to him about work being that I work at the same company as he used to in Construction (WS Bellows Construction). I would print off plans and go over what we were doing. It was a different kind of bonding, but I could tell he was so proud.

We didn't get but a couple years to build new memories at their new house with him, but with this family no matter where we are feels like home. I will miss him so much, but am very glad I was able to spend so much time with him. Rest in Peace Grandpa! I'll have an Oreo for you :D
