Derek Addington

Derek Addington, 55 of Largo, Florida, passed away March 16, 2024.

Derek was born August 15, 1968 in Houston, Texas to parents Paul and Elizabeth “Betty” (Smith) Addington. Derek loved his family. He was a momma’s boy and always admired and respected his father.

As a youth, he played baseball and ran track. He attended Southwest Texas, University of Houston and Houston Community College. He worked for Stewart Title Company. Derek loved family barbecues and was a great cook. He had a passion for all things outdoors: riding horses, mountain biking, skydiving and duck hunting with family and friends. Derek was fun loving: riding go carts, skating, going to arcades and watching movies. He loved the ocean and living near the water in Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving family includes: brothers Craig Addington and Todd Addington, and aunt Nan Smith.

Visitation with his family will be Monday, March 25th from 11 am until 1:30 pm. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2 pm at Prairie Lea Cemetery with Rev. David Beckworth officiating.
