Obituary

Darlene Joyce Stone, born April 25, 1941 to Christopher and Ida Albrandt, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 83. Darlene lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. For 23 years, she served as a dedicated bookkeeper for an OBGYN practice in Houston, Texas, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and great sense of humor.

Darlene had an incredible gift for making everyone feel at ease. She brought joy to those around her, and her laughter was contagious. One of her most cherished traditions was making breakfast at midnight for her daughters and their friends after a night of dancing. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, and her love for family knew no bounds. She delighted in spoiling her grandson and great-grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to shower them with affection.

A devout Catholic, Darlene's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She lived with a heart full of gratitude and happiness, never uttering a negative word. Her positive outlook on life and her unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, surrounded by the love she so generously gave throughout her life. Darlene leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Tabby Lynn Moore.

Darlene is survived by her daughter Corina Mae Smith and husband Mark; grandson Shelby Stephen Hadash and wife Kyndal, great grandchildren Karsyn and Styrling Hadash, granddaughter Stephanie Sobotik and husband Joseph, great grandchildren Presley, Peyton, and Fisher Sobotik, grandson Dustin Smith and wife Logyn, great grandsons Becker and Meyer Smith and grandson Jacob Smith and wife Ashley, great grandson Bauer Smith and son-in-law David Moore.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Marek, Darrell Marek, Conner Cooke, Cody Brantley, David Moore, and Duane Hadash.

Visitation and Rosary will be Sunday, January 19th from noon until 6:30pm. Family will be present from 4:30pm until 6:30pm. A Rosary will begin at 6:30pm with Deacon John Pelletier officiating at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

The funeral mass will be held on Monday morning, January 20th, at 9:00am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brenham, TX. Burial will take place after the funeral mass in Calvary Cemetery in Brenham, TX.
