Obituary

Charlotte Jane (Oswald) Lucius, age 89, passed from this life from cancer on June 28, 2023.

Charlotte was born May 6, 1934 in Escondido, California to parents Robert Albert Oswald and Roberta Reid Jones Oswald. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School in Florida. On January 13, 1952, Charlotte was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart, Robert Richard Lucius, in Valdosta, Georgia. Her employment in St. Petersburg included soldering and Customer service for Sears. In Houston, she worked as a school secretary, counselor’s secretary and attendance clerk for Aldine ISD, from which she retired. Her hobby was oil painting, and those paintings were displayed and admired in her home as well as in the homes of others. She was also a good seamstress with a very creative ability, sewing clothing and projects for family. In addition, she dabbled in a little wood carving, making pieces for family and friends. Her grandchildren will attest to her creative carving of food for visual enjoyment and consumption. She believed that things tasted better when they were pretty. Desserts were served in fancy stemmed glassware, because “it tastes better in a pretty glass.” Charlotte attended the Lutheran church.
