Charles "Von" Darrell Allen Sr.

Charles “Von” Darrell Allen Sr., a devoted servant of God, country, and state, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025.

He was born on February 14, 1940, to Charles Grey Allen and Johnnie Pauline Allen. A proud graduate of Tyler High School and an alumnus of Sam Houston State University. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 before committing over 25 years as a Texas Department of Public Safety Peace Officer, retiring as a respected Sr. Narcotics Srgt. Investigator.

On February 14, 1998, Von married the love of his life, Stacey, at Greenvine Baptist Church. Their bond was one of faith, love, and unwavering support. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Stacey, and his children: Andrea & Wayne, Brad Allen, Ashley & Corky, Cody & Tina, Alexis & Aaron, Charles Von Jr., Christy & Brad, and Rance & Debbie. He also leaves behind his brother, James Allen; his 14 grandchildren and his 6 great-grandchildren. Von was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Johnnie, his brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Barbara, his brother Preston, his sister-in-law Lois, his son Seth, and his lifelong friend Bob.

A celebration of Von’s life will be held at Independence Baptist Historical Church February 15, 2025 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or Texans on Mission.
