I am sad to hear of the passing of Charles Bailey. I knew Charles when he was principal at Yorktown ISD in the 1980's. He was a fine man, a good friend to me as well as to my husband at that time, Dr. Dale Pitts, who was the school superintendent of Yorktown ISD. We enjoyed knowing Charles and were honored to be his friends. Charles had a great sense of humor and was one of the kindest, most compassionate, and most sensitive men I've known. He was an excellent educator and his teachers admired and respected him. I enjoyed working with Charles at Yorktown ISD, and he was always supportive in all we tried to do for the students. We need more good men like Charles Bailey in education as well as in our increasingly chaotic world.
