Obituary

Carol Ann (Borlin) Beaumier, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. Carol was a creative person who loved art, nature, books, and magazines. She was also the biggest fan of the magazine Hill Country Car Culture, created and published by her son. Carol’s seamstress skills included sewing most of her daughter’s childhood wardrobe, her prom dresses, and her wedding gown. She loved making her own clothes and handmade gifts for her grandchildren, such as life-size dolls and doll houses for her granddaughters, and huge stuffed dinosaurs for her grandsons. In her effort to provide a nice home for her family, she made draperies and reupholstered furniture, and created much of the wall décor.

Carol was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on June 26, 1935 to Paul A. Borlin and Adelyne (Kern) Borlin. Due to her father’s occupation as a corporate salesman and marketing manager, the family moved often. After attending many schools, Carol graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, Texas in 1953. She found permanence when she met Louis Beaumier at the University of Houston while she was attending nursing school. Married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Houston on April 30, 1955 they were inseparable, rarely apart. While in Houston, two children were born, Pauline and Louis III. In 1976, the Beaumier family moved to San Antonio, Texas with her husband’s job transfer. She had a love for gardening, oil and watercolor painting, ceramics and pottery, arts and crafts, embroidery and needlepoint, home décor, sewing, and she was a voracious reader. Although she went back to school to achieve her LVN, she enjoyed the art and pottery classes she took at the San Antonio Art Institute the most. When Carol lost her husband of 65 years in August of 2020, she was a bit lost, but her daughter Pauline, son Louis III, and their spouses, Gary and Mary Alice, cared for her in her home, so she could stay in familiar surroundings.

Carol is survived by her two children and their spouses, Pauline Beaumier Green and Gary A. Green of Longview, Texas, and Louis Beaumier III and Mary Alice Beaumier of Kerrville, Texas; brother, Kern Borlin (Deany) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Sireta Michalak of Cedar Creek, Texas; grandchildren, Brianne Green Hughes (Kyle) of Leander, Texas, Alyssa Green Ervine (Justin) of San Antonio, Texas, Austin Green (Bianca) of Georgetown, Texas, and Zachary Beaumier (Andrea) of San Antonio, Texas; and great-grandchildren Jace Hughes, Cashis Beaumier, Lucas Green, Ethan Hughes, Emilia Green, and Jayce Nichols. She is also survived by 5 nephews, 9 nieces, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Louis, her parents, her brother Jerry Borlin, and sister-in-laws Katharine Elliott and Anna Borlin.

Interment for both Carol and Louis will be Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a double gravesite service at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas amongst multiple generations of Beaumiers.

In lieu of flowers, those who would like to honor their lives are asked to make a monetary donation of their choosing to memorial book funds set up in each of their names at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library (100 MLK Jr Pkwy, Brenham, TX 77833.
