Arlene Rost

Arlene Quebe Rost, age 63 of Burton, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Scott and White Hospital-Brenham.

Arlene was born in Brenham on August 23, 1948 to parents Johann A. and Hettie Sommerfeld Quebe. She was baptized October 3, 1948 by Rev. Paul Gogolin, confirmed February 25, 1962 by Rev. Louis Kramer and married Lynwood A. Rost on May 26, 1973 by Rev. A. J. Mohr all in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Arlene was of the Lutheran faith. She attained her AAB degree from Blinn College. Arlene’s forty-two years employment with Germania Insurance was as a personal lines underwriter. Her memberships include Greenvine Supporters, Greenvine Wildlife Society and Prairie Hill/Rocky Hill VFD. She enjoyed needlework, playing pitch and having a good time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lynwood A. Rost, her parents Johann and Hettie Quebe and parents-in-law Ben and Evelyn Rost.

Survivors include goddaughters Erin Chere Tisdel of Houston; Leigh Ann Seilheimer and husband Adam of Brenham, Connie Smith and husband Tom of Houston and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Lenny Krause, Delbert Boeker, Glen Braune, Bobby Arndt, Carl Dahman, Rick Blundell, Ted Duckworth, David Sommer. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Kroll, Paul Ehlert, Ray Cox and Dr. Raj Cheruku. Dr. Raj Cheruku…bless his heart, kept my spirits up, put up with me and took very special care of me.
