Obituary

Anne Marie Prigge Hooks, 35, of Brenham passed away at her home Saturday, October 16, 2004, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Anne was born August 13, 1969 in Brenham to Willie, Jr, and Jackie (Grote) Prigge. On November 16, 1969 she was baptized by Rev. Bruno Schroeder and on May 22, 1983 she was confirmed by Rev. Glen Schoeneberg both at St. John’s United Church of Christ of Burton. Anne was the 1979 Junior Maifest queen and reigned over the court of "Magical Parades”. She was Brenham Fire Department’s Miss Flame. Anne was a 1987 graduate of Brenham High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. On August 3, 1987 she was married to Don Michael Hooks in Hempstead. She was also an August 2000 graduate of the Blinn College vocational nursing program and was a licensed vocational nurse.

Her loving family includes: husband Don Hooks, sons Michael Ray Hooks and Kyle Dean Hooks, parents Willie and Jackie Prigge all of Brenham; mother-in-law Shirley Hooks, father-in-law Charles Hooks and wife Ellie all of Gilmer; brother Kenton Prigge and wife Sharon of Brenham; brothers-in-law Will Hooks, Paul Hooks, Ray Hooks, sister-in-law Kim Harris all of Gilmer; nephews Jordan Prigge, Brock Prigge, Carl McCoy, Matthew Hooks; nieces Morgan Prigge, Richelle Hooks, Kristi Cottingham, Chelsea Cottingham; numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Monday, October 18, 2004 from 6 – 8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s United Church of Christ of Burton with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Butch Grote, Jason Brown, Joshua Brown, Jacob Brown, Tommy Matthews, Fred Rivas, Paul Kaminski, and David Buck. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jordan Prigge, Brock Prigge, members of her 1983 confirmation class, members of Brenham High School graduating class of 1987, employees of Magnetic Instruments, Linda Pitts, Gloria Roehling, Minta Webb, Will Hooks, Gene Hooks.

Memorials may be given to the Michael and Kyle Hooks Trust Fund at Brenham National Bank.
